An Overview Of Our Solution

Biodynamic farm "Live Earth Potutory" plans to conduct studies on organic and biodynamic production to more farmers engaged in organic production and promote biodiversity, sustainable development and improving the environment. The philosophy of organic and biodynamic production, which we are to other farmers through example and education, promotes healthy land and climate and maintains diversity. We spend poanuyemo dvoriichnyy course "biodynamichnnoho agriculture in Ukraine" ukrainian teach farmers and establish a "School Biodynamics in Ukraine!"

Solution

Describe your solution

Organic production in itself makes agriculture sustainable. Planning a crop rotation and a stable harvest give our employees the confidence to work. The methods of biodynamic farming have a strong social and ecological component, and lead to an increase in biodiversity even on arable land. But we have pastures and there are very stable ecosystems. And everywhere happy people!
Implementation

Describe your implementation

- The enterprise switched to organic, and then to biodynamic production and shows an example to surrounding farmers, 7 neighboring farms switch to organic.  - Demand for organic products is growing both in the local market, and in Ukraine and Europe and this is a good stable economic indicator of success for stable business and stable biodiversity. • Key success factors - the team, its direct participation in the formation and development of the organic market of Ukraine and Europe, is a perverse niche for business and social security, and at the same time the most ecological one. • Any obstacles and ways to overcome them - weather conditions - different types of activities, different cultures and crop rotation allow to be independent;  - people - there are many people in the team who are constantly studying  - politics - a farm in Ukraine in a zone stable from political aggression. - Specific activities and/or specifically what your solution does to address the identified problems above in the Context Analysis section - How you ensured your solution was adopted and promoted change in human activities - Enabling conditions - Key success factors - Any obstacles and how you overcame them

External connections

In the development and implementation of the project to increase biodiversity - namely the training of farmers in biodynamic methods - I participate in 20 farms from Ukraine and teachers from France. Several farms are engaged in organic aquaculture, are located near the forest and are an example for neighbors. In Ukraine organic farming is becoming a series of profitable farming and has strong state support
Results

What is the environmental or ecological challenge you are targeting with your solution?

Restoration of soil fertility - an increase in the microbiological background by 60% through the introduction of biodynamic drugs. Creation of a sustainable healthy ecosystem with animals, plants and microorganisms to improve the environment. Organic agriculture for 10 years to preserve biodiversity in the fields of the enterprise and around, for the health of the population, which is part of the ecosystem.

Describe the context in which you are operating

The enterprise has a farm of 40 cows, pastures and land for herbs and cereals. Production has an organic certification for 10 years. Spicy herbs are exported to Europe, also sells on the domestic market, creating jobs - there is processing with all the rules for food safety. Cereals and legumes. Which are needed in the rotation, use for themselves and sell surpluses. Organic milk is supplied to the local school and to the local market. Animal husbandry is necessary for valuable compost and healthy soil. Importantly - the farm uses biodynamic drugs!

How did you impact natural resource use and greenhouse gas emissions?

There are very precise European standards, which I use in my activity - decisions 834 and 839 of the European Commission. There are also rules of biodynamic production that encourage the environment and create a sustainable farm organism.

Replication and Scale

How could we successfully replicate this solution elsewhere?

Formation and development of the organic market can be conducted on any farms, participants of the social union Organic Ukraine. We also need workbooks, translation of books from other languages, and the creation and development of methods for training young professionals
