Problem

Describe the problem

As we manage land we can manage water. Each farmer has a defined aerea from 5 meter to 50 meter depth. In this area The farmer must grow the largest biodiversity he can, using specific technique to: - enhance algal production (macro and micro algal)by the use of compost and other nutrients sources. - protect larvae by the use of net of different size - create ecological niche for each kind of animals and plant. Ecological enforcement is obtaining by optimising water layer exploration by animals. The farmer could invite people to visit his farm and this touristic activity is used for completing his revenue; He can store some species in protecting area waiting for good market prices. He is responsible of the size and the number of fish and shellfish he catch.

Biodiversity Impact

Marine ecosystem could produce far more if they are optimised like coral reef. If fishers could be responsible of this biodiversity they can pick up what they need without destroying the ressource. This underwater garden are particularly adapted to long sandy coastal ecosystem. If larvae could develop easily one part of the adults are going to colonize other area. This give the way to the progressive restoration of the whole ecosystem. The bases of the system is the enhancement of algal productivity obtained by the use of compost and other nutrients sources managed by the fishers at home.
Solution
If this kind of farming is developing it would be easier to protect natural area. Touristic and fisheries pressure could be drained to the farm. Education of the fishers on ecological principles of ecosystem management is the best way to stop local threats. // If you protect from 0 to 50 meter depth you can growth the majority of the fishes and shell fishes of the climatic area. If it takes 500 m long to have this deepening variation with a band of 50m bright this gives you a 2 hectares band pro farm.

Replicability

How many years has your solution been applied? 1 year // Have others reproduced your solution elsewhere? No // I expose you my solution, i didn't have the opportunity to test it. It's possible that it could be a solution.

Human Well Being and Livelihood Impact

Human well being is impacted by the insurance of food supplies and the opportunity to have other sources of incomes. Livelihoods aren't completely modified just human habits are integrated inside ecosystem functionning // My community is biologist working in field experiment. What we know it is that we have to help people to follow natural rules. The management and governance is of two kind. One is a strict application of properties right for the fisher and a defence system against foreign fisheries and roberies. The governance of the site is simple, if you don't repect natural balance you haven't anything to fish.
