An Overview Of Our Solution
The Global Food Exchange™ was founded out of a need to more efficiently provide emergency disaster relief around the World. Through efforts of the Global Food Exchange™ and strategic partners, we aim to provide complete meals composed of highly nutritious ingredients, portable water systems, and shelter systems wherever disasters happen.
Over the past decade, communications technology, transportation technology, power systems and food manufacturing technology alike have improved; and yet record numbers of people around the globe are dying because we are not able to get adequate quantities of food and clean water to victims following a natural disaster.
The problem is twofold: (1) Manufacturers cannot produce the massive quantities of food and other supplies needed fast enough; and (2) Governments, NGOs, and other aid organizations just don’t have the funds to create and maintain the network of stored food, water and other supplies that are needed to be sufficiently disaster ready.
The Global Food Exchange has been specifically designed to revolutionize current inefficiencies in the production and distribution of food and related supplies.
The Mission of the Global Food Exchange is to provide the world’s most efficient critical relief sourcing platform, making them available where and when they are needed.
Whether you want government to do more or less, it cannot do it all. The Global Food Exchange and its strategic partners have developed solutions that ease the burden on governments and aid agencies.

Implementation Actions
You can't reduce the risk of a natural or manmade disaster to occur... that is why they are disasters, but we can and have to be more prepared to handle the outcome of those disaster in a much better and effective way to ensure the safety of the population.
Global Food Exchange tackle these three problems. Here are the specifics:
Each problem is solved through the Relief Vault systems
The Relief Vault is a secure physical storage container that can hold emergency food, shelter, water purification systems, personal hygiene products or a combination of those. Each relief vault is stored in a secure location throughout the world and is designed to be rapidly deployed to the world’s most susceptible geographic regions.
Describe Your Solution
Global Food Exchange™ purchases highly nutritious freeze-dried and dehydrated meals at extremely low price points during normal manufacturing periods. We then pre-package the meals, drinks, and all equipment needed to serve them (such as cooking equipment, serving supplies, water purification systems, portable shelter, tables, lighting, etc.) in standardized shipping containers and store them near disaster prone areas. When a disaster occurs, these containers (Food Relief Vaults) can then be immediately deployed to the hardest hit areas and set up for immediate food relief, from strategically located global facilities. The containers are fully self-sufficient and don’t rely on electricity or external fuel, making the products ideal in ground zero relief efforts.
Global Food Exchange™ recognizes that safe drinking water is an essential item following any disaster. It is our goal to provide all forms of clean water solutions to those in need. A Water Relief Vault or WRV is an ISO shipping container specially designed to house a 100,000 gallon per day (gpd) high-tech Industrial Reverse Osmosis System (IROS) with integrated diesel generator sets, and containerized desalination systems.
Our systems consist of complete desalination systems built inside intermodal shipping containers. They are suitable for permanent installations on feed waters containing more than 10,000 ppm of dissolved solids. The units are designed for cost-effective shipment and installation, long-term dependability, and superior energy efficiency.
The WRV offers the following features:
- All systems built inside 40 ft container with doors on each end (allows access to genset),
- Pretreatment systems, automatic backwash control, cartridge filters, and chemical injection,
- High pressure positive displacement pumps with VFD, FRP RO pressure vessels, and energy recovery device (ERD),
- Integrated permeate flush/clean-in-place system with flush tank,
- PLC based control system for automatic operation. Control system includes a complete set of electronic sensors for pressure, flow, and product quality,
- Integral diesel genset comprised of a Perkins diesel engine and Stamford alternator. Includes exhaust system, cooling system, generator controller, main circuit breaker, and 600 gallon fuel tank,
- Genset is installed in a separate compartment of the container and is accessed by the second set of doors on the opposite end of the container.
A Shelter Relief Vault or SRV is also an ISO container with high quality FEMA and US military approved designs, which include solar panels on the roof, bunk beds, and partition walls. The shelters are ergonomically designed domed Shelters that include bunk beds for sleeping and storage space.
Our systems consist of thirty-four military grade 20'x40' tents with approximately 27,200 sqft of covered living space stored inside inter modal shipping containers for easy deployment. They are suitable for high winds (up to 70 mph), heavy snow, and sand storms. The units are designed for cost-effective shipment and deployment, long-term dependability, and superior housing efficiency.
The tents offer the following features:
- Can withstand 70 mph wind load (code per IBC),
- 3 psf utility or ground snow load (code per IBC),
- Membrane fabric is 16 oz laminate PVC Opaque in either tan or white colors,
- Comes with bunks, zipper doors, fabric floor liner, tool kits, electric military fluorescent light fixtures with wiring and plug, electrical panel,
- Can be setup in 20 minutes.
Economic?
The Global Food Exchange has been specifically designed as a system for maximizing efficiency in the production and distribution of food and related supplies. Our core focus is intended to serve those who suffer most from those inefficiencies: victims of disasters.
As the system continues its growth, more products and services will be brought into the system.
- If you are a relief agency, become a strategic partner and allow us to serve you with what you need, where you need it, when you need it.
- If you are a manufacturer of food or disaster relief supplies, contact us to see how we might put your cutting edge product into the hands of those who need it most.
As an organization that is constantly seeking to build huge stores of food using our long-term food storage technology, we serve farmers by buying their #2 quality products and support prices at reasonable levels (we are going to clean them, cut them up, and dry them anyway; so we don’t care if they are already ripe or have a flaw).
- By contracting regular production and sometimes more during slow cycles, manufacturers are able to leverage their GFE relationship to improve production efficiency. In return, pricing is very favorable to GFE members.
- Relief agencies depend on supplies being close by following a disaster. Through a network of strategically located storage facilities, government agencies and global relief organizations are able to get high quality food, clean water and other supplies faster and cheaper than normal.
Through the Global Food Exchange and its Strategic Partners, we are able to feed people in the immediate aftermath, and then convert containers and other products into marketplaces producing fish, chicken, and vegetables. This is just a start, but it is a great start. By helping to rebuild markets we truly help to rebuild communities.
Environmental?
The environmental impact of all the Global Exchange Vaults would be minimal when compared with NOT having this alternative on the table. The direct result on the environment of a mismanaged disaster situation can pollute hundreds of times more than if proper food, shelter and hygiene is provided.
I would argue that not having these type of valuts produces much more damage to the environment by victims of disasters that in desperation will attack their resources generating a much larger problem.
Social?
Managing a disaster properly has all the positive aspects needed to avoid serious social unrest and proliferation of cnntagious diseases that a can spread around the world very fast.
I would say that this is a needed step and these tools are essential for the world to be able to handle local and large scale disasters.
The other aspect that must be taking into account is that with global warming and political unrest around the world the amount and frequency of disaster are expected to grow every year.
What were the negative or unintended impacts (if any) associated with implementing this solution?
No that we are aware of
