An Overview Of Our Solution

En el municipio de Toca-departamento de Boyacá-Colombia, se implemento en 75 familias el cultivo de Mora de Castilla como alternativa a los cultivos tradicionales (papa y cebolla de bulbo) contaminantes de suelos, agua y aire, se da como solución cultivar esta fruta aplicando las buenas prácticas agrícolas (BPA), reduciendo el uso de plaguicidas y adicionando insectos polinizadores (Abejas). Pero carecen de sistemas de riego por goteo, riegan con aspersores gastando miles de litros de agua en un riego. La idea es solucionar en familias de mayor área de cultivo el uso eficiente del agua con la instalación de un sistema de riego por goteo. Se reducirá en un 70% de litros de agua utilizada en el riego tradicional. La zona carece de este preciado recurso.

What is the environmental or ecological challenge you are targeting with your solution?

Primero que todo la reducción del uso de plaguicidas en la zona, ya que con los cultivos tradicionales, papa y cebolla de bulbo, son los grandes contaminantes de suelos, agua y aire. En nuestro cultivo de Mora de castilla, se aplican la BPA (Buenas Práctica Agrícolas), se realizarán cercas vivas, hay 75 familias beneficiadas, tienen un comercio preestablecido; El problema es que carecen de riego por goteo, el cual es una limitante ya que el agua que poseen no alcanza con el riego tradicional. Al implementar el fertirriego se ahorrará hasta un 70% del agua que ellos usan normalmente. Nuestra idea es reducir el uso de plaguicidas, uso eficiente del agua, establecer cercas vivas e implementar insectos polinizadores (abejas).
