An Overview Of Our Solution
Edible Acres is a permaculture based forest farm in Trumansburg, NY. [ www.edibleacres.org | youtube.com/user/edibleacres ]
We operate a 6 acre experimental food forest that includes a full service perennial / hardy / edible plant nursery, an incredibly wide variety of both annual and perennial food crops and demonstration gardens for people to observe and learn from. This is done entirely without well water, electricity, fossil fuels, or animal power. Using hand dug ponds, waterways, swales and other earthworks combined with practices of no-till, deep deep mulch, and complex polycultures of plants, we've been able to create a thriving nursery and food production system that we believe is truly sustainable. We hope to share this work with as many people as possible and inspire other sustainable farming in our area and beyond.
