An Overview Of Our Solution
New closed and optimized productive systems were developed and implemented, specifically for the environmental and social conditions of the Caquetá department; the systems included water recycling systems, cereals and sugarcane crop to feed pigs and cows and basic food crops for self-consumption, among others. The implemented system focused on maximizing the productivity of the available resources, without sacrificing any environmental asset, by using the residues of traditional farming, as an input of new productive activities, that complemented family’s wellbeing. The results presented an increased productivity per area unit, provided added value to the region by creating incentives to drop illegal crops, prevented deforestation caused by extensive cattle breading and created confidence bonds between communities and government.
