Through the Solution Search program:

Solar Sister is teaming up with BRAC Microfinance in Tanzania to expand their network of women entrepreneurs who can buy solar products.

Innovative initiatives like Sisterhood Groups and monthly Community Champions are increasing recruitment and supporting budding ‘clean energy’ leaders.

“The community prays for us because we have brought a different lifestyle to their homes,” says Basilia, Solar Sister Entrepreneur (SSE)

Abroad, SSEs are gaining recognition as innovators at the frontlines of climate change mitigation.

Hilaria, another SSE, was awarded the ‘Woman Entrepreneur of the Year’ by the International Network on Gender and Sustainable Energy in 2017.

As of June 2019, Solar Sister has delivered 19,723 clean energy products to last-mile communities, benefiting 98,615 end users.
