We have briefed the farming communities about the advantages of using fermenter technology, where in the organic matters like animal dung, plants residuals, households wastes and other like products can be efficiently converted to bio fertilizers. In this way, these products are converted into rich source of organic fertilizers for growing vegetables and other crops in the marginalized and poor managed soils, fields.

. In Fermenter Technology, we are making a cemented structure of water tank where we can put the organic matters mentioned earlier. The organic matters are converted into slurry with the help of active bacteria and molasses and are stored for two months before use. When the bio fertilizer is formed, then is used or drained in irrigation for growing fruits and vegetables. It is very useful, economical and environmentally safe. we have improved the local bio diversity. The local environment has also been improved by using these products quickly and efficiently. The animal dungs are laid openly in our areas which cause sever bad smell and also cause the environment polluted. The farming communities are made aware of the benefits of using the least preferred products into most preferred fertilizers and growing healthy, safe and economical crops including vegetables, cereals and fruit orchards. The water is made safe from contamination of un- hygienic products like house wastes, animal dung, fruit markets waste and weeds etc. This technology reduces those organic products which are usually burnt and make problems for climate change. The microbial activities enhance the vegetation and support the climate change in positive way.
External connections
In this technology, we will need living bacteria and molasses for efficiently and quickly converting the bio product to fertilizers. Living bacteria can be collected from ex professor of Agriculture University Faisalabad Punjab and molasses from Sugar mills in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The other sectors like forest can also be benefitted through thus technology by using the liquid fertilizers and enhancing the growth of the forest trees and nurseries.

What is the environmental or ecological challenge you are targeting with your solution?
The act of mixing fertilizers in irrigation water is called bio- fertilization, whereas fermented technology is a method in which organic manures are fermented in a tank attached to the watercourse where a part of the irrigation water passes through it and enriches the irrigation water with organic nutrient sources. Here in using Fermented Technology, we use the organic or natural products like animal dung, weeds, plant roots, plant stems, and house hold waste etc for promoting agro biodiversity. These products are efficiently use for making organic slurry and is used for increasing soil fertility and microbial activities in fields.
Describe the context in which you are operating
We are working with the poor and marginalized farming community of district Swat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. These farming communities are residing in far flung and hilly areas, where soil texture is very loose and porous. Water and nutrients are very easily either drains or leached. The soil fertility is very weak so organic matter in form of organic slur or solution is added to the soil making more fertile. The purpose of the activity is to help mineralize through fermentation process crop residues, farm manures, industrial wastes and municipal solid waste with the use of effective microorganism in order to enhance the fertility of soil by improving its physical, biological and chemical properties.

The water is made safe from contamination of un- hygienic products like house wastes, animal dungs, fruit markets waste and weeds etc. The drinking and irrigation water can be protected from any kind of contamination by adopting this technology on larger scale.

By this technology, we can get the micro nutrients and can be applied to the crops and ensure food security by getting maximum production.

We can grow crops with less cost as by using natural and bio fertilizers on field level or at home. It is also sustainable as the farming communities always some of the animals and plant residuals. It can be around the year activity with less cost and more benefits

This technology reduces those organic products which are usually burnt and make problems for climate change. The microbial activities enhance the vegetation and support the climate change in positive way
Sustainability
In this process, we can also get revenue from selling our bio fertilizers to other farmers in the area for growing organic crops on less cost and labour. This activity also reduces reliance on the chemical fertilizers in crop production practices and empowers the farming communities to produce organic and bio fertilizers in liquid form.
Return on investment
The Cost on construction of each Fermenter is around Sixty Thousand Pak Rupees (Rs. 60000). It can be returned very quickly by using the fermenter three to four times in a year and growing economical safe and organic crops including vegetables. Whenever the owner of the fermenter has no need of this bio fertilizer, he can sell out the ready-made product to other farmers in the area and hence get benefits/ income of this activity and structure

How could we successfully replicate this solution elsewhere?
We can very easily replicate this activity where organic and natural products like Animal dungs, plants residual, water for irrigation, house hold waste and other natural items are available and farmers have interest in growing economical, safe and healthy crops. It has been done and implemented throughout in district Swat. The farmers will be well equipped with trainings by the Agriculture Experts in District Swat
